ABOUT US

Boundary Consulting Services Ltd. has been expanding its engineering services since its establishment in 2015. Our aim has been to provide the Sunshine Coast, Lower Mainland, and BC with services in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, and project management in a cost effective and timely manner.

GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING

We provide geotechnical engineering services related to residential, commercial, municipal, industrial, and mining construction including: geotechnical hazard assessments, flood impact assessments, coastal impact assessments, shallow foundation design, deep foundation design, retaining wall design, shoring design, slope stabilization design, and WorkSafe BC site inspections. 


We also provide many non-construction services such as real estate pre-purchase appraisals, risk assessments, bylaw reviews, and other technical expertise consulting.  Contact us to learn more!

CIVIL ENGINEERING

We provide services related to residential, commercial, municipal, industrial, and mining construction including: drainage assessment, drainage design, pavement condition assessments, pavement design, construction surveying, construction management, construction quality control testing (soil, asphalt, and concrete), and others.  Contact us to find out more!

We provide project management services, from project conception to completion, for commercial, municipal, and industrial projects. BEN SMALE, P.ENG.

Principal

Ben is an experienced civil/geotechnical engineer who has been practicing for over fifteen years in the residential, commercial, municipal, mining, and industrial industries.  His experience spans British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon Territories, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.  His career has been focused on risk assessment of hazard systems including everything from residential development permit application in residential construction to monitoring complex waste dump operations in mining applications.  Ben is a resident of the Sunshine Coast and is actively involved in the Gibsons Fire Department as a volunteer member, the Sunshine Coast Builders Association as a past board member and current association member, and as a volunteer for the Habitat for Humanity building project in Sechelt.  He's committed to making the coast his home.

MICAH SMITH, P.ENG.

Project Engineer

Micah is an experienced project engineer who has been practicing for over ten years in residential, commercial, and power project development. His projects experience spans the remote forests and communities of British Columbia to the bustling streets of Kathmandu. His career has been focused on hydraulics, hydrology, and construction management from small housing projects to large independent power projects. Micah is a Sunshine Coast local active in many community projects throughout the coast.
